Pigeon spikes are the standard solution for protecting ledges, parapets, AC units, window sills, and other linear surfaces where pigeons habitually perch and roost. Made from stainless steel or hardened polycarbonate, spike strips present a physical barrier that makes the surface impossible to land on, immediately displacing birds to other areas without causing injury.

Stainless steel pigeon spikes are the preferred specification for permanent outdoor use in coastal and humid climates. The spike pins are made from SS 304 or SS 316 grade wire, set into a UV-stabilised polycarbonate base that is bonded or screwed to the surface. Unlike cheaper plastic spikes that become brittle within 12–18 months, SS spikes retain their shape, sharpness, and effectiveness for 10+ years.

Pigeon spikes work best as part of a combined bird exclusion strategy — spikes on ledges, combined with netting on open spaces.
