Monkey Protection Nets

Monkey protection nets are used in properties near forested areas, national parks, temple precincts, and urban green zones where monkey populations regularly enter residential and commercial buildings through balconies, windows, and open terraces. Monkeys cause significant property damage — breaking items, stealing food, damaging plant pots, and occasionally injuring residents who attempt to chase them away.

Monkey exclusion requires significantly heavier netting than bird control — monkeys are strong, intelligent, and persistent, and will test any net for weaknesses. The net specification for monkey exclusion uses 50mm mesh from at least 3mm diameter polypropylene cord with a knot-breaking strength of not less than 250kg. Anchors are spaced at 400mm intervals and fixed with M8 or larger expansion bolts into RCC.

Monkey exclusion nets must cover the full opening including ceiling — monkeys will climb the net if given a foothold, so the installation must create a complete enclosure rather than simply a front barrier. Corner junctions and anchor points are reinforced with steel cable ties to prevent monkeys from pulling the net away from fixings.
